Walt Disney World is the most magical place on earth. Planning it

properly makes all the difference.

Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida is the most visited theme park resort in the world. Four iconic theme parks, two water parks, more than 25 resort hotels, world-class dining, and experiences that families talk about for the rest of their lives. It is also one of the most complex holidays you will ever plan and that complexity is exactly where I come in.

I am Alex Perry, an independent Disney holiday specialist and the only travel agent in the United Kingdom to have graduated from Disney University. I have visited Walt Disney World more than 100 times. I have worked there as a cast member. And I have been planning Walt Disney World holidays for UK families for over 15 years.

When you book your Walt Disney World holiday through me, you get genuine first-hand expertise, full ATOL and ABTA financial protection, dining reservation management, personalised park planning, and ongoing support from enquiry to arrival home at exactly the same price as booking direct with Disney.

The Theme Parks

Walt Disney World is home to four uniquely themed parks, each with its own charm and attractions:

  • Magic Kingdom: The iconic park where Cinderella Castle stands tall, featuring beloved attractions like Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the classic "it’s a small world."
  • EPCOT: A celebration of human achievement, technology, and world cultures. Here, you can explore the future in Future World and take a trip around the globe in the World Showcase.
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: The place for movie magic! Step into immersive lands like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land, and enjoy thrilling attractions like the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Where adventure meets nature, with breathtaking experiences like Pandora – The World of Avatar, Expedition Everest, and the ever-popular Kilimanjaro Safaris.

Located in Orlando, Florida, Walt Disney World consists of four incredible theme parks, two water parks, a variety of resort hotels, shopping, dining, and entertainment districts. It’s a place where fantasy meets reality, offering something for guests of all ages.

Alex's top tips for Walt Disney World from the UK

Start planning 12 to 18 months ahead.

The best resorts at the best prices go quickly once promotional offers are released. Dining reservations for the most popular restaurants open 60 days before your travel date and sell out within hours. Early planning is not excessive, it is essential for getting the holiday you actually want.

Give yourself at least 10 nights.

Walt Disney World is enormous. Four theme parks, two water parks, Disney Springs, and more than 25 resort hotels. A week is not enough. For most UK families I recommend a minimum of 10 nights. 14 nights is ideal for families who want to cover everything comfortably without feeling rushed.

Set up My Disney Experience before you travel.

This app controls everything at Disney World dining reservations, Lightning Lane, mobile food ordering, your park tickets, and your resort room key. Download it at home, link your tickets, and set up your whole party before you fly. Do not try to learn it in the park on your first morning.

Where to Stay, the Resort Hotel Tiers Explained

Every Disney resort hotel, regardless of tier, gives you Early Theme Park Entry up to 30 minutes before the general public and complimentary Disney transport to every park and Disney Springs. The tier you choose affects room size, atmosphere, and in some cases location. It does not affect your access to the on-site benefits that matter most. You can read the full guide to why staying at a Disney hotel makes such a difference.

Value Resorts

Bold theming, all on-site benefits, most affordable nightly rate. Art of Animation's family suites sleep up to six and include a kitchenette, ideal for larger families or families with young children. The on-site magic at a price that works.

Moderate Resorts

More space, more atmosphere, and a genuinely beautiful resort experience at a price that suits most UK families. Port Orleans Riverside is my most recommended resort for first-time visitors, beautiful waterways, princess-themed rooms, excellent pools, and all on-site benefits.

Deluxe Resorts

Disney's premium offering. Extraordinary theming, superior dining, and in some cases unbeatable location advantages, the monorail loop for Magic Kingdom, the EPCOT area resorts, the Animal Kingdom Lodge savanna views. For families where the resort experience is as important as the parks.

The Four Parks, and What to Expect from Each One

Magic Kingdom

The iconic park. The castle. The characters. The classic rides that define what Disney World means to most families. Magic Kingdom is where most first-time visitors spend the most time and where the emotional weight of the trip lives. For families with young children this is the park to prioritise above all others. Plan more time here than anywhere else.

EPCOT

EPCOT has transformed dramatically in recent years and is now one of the most exciting parks at Walt Disney World for all ages. Guardians of the Galaxy, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After, and the World Showcase, a lagoon ringed with pavilions from 11 countries, make this a full day destination in its own right.

Hollywood Studios

The park for movie magic and the most in-demand attractions on property. Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, Toy Story Land, the Tower of Terror, and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. For families with older children and teenagers this is often the highlight of the trip. Lightning Lane strategy matters most here.

Animal Kingdom

The park that surprises first-time visitors most. Avatar Flight of Passage in Pandora is widely considered the best theme park attraction in the world. Kilimanjaro Safaris takes you through a genuine African savanna with real animals. Bigger and deeper than most people expect. A full day well spent.

“We honestly wouldn’t book a Disney holiday any other way now.

From the very beginning, everything was taken care of—resort recommendations, dining plans, park strategies… every detail was thoughtfully handled. It took away so much of the stress and allowed us to simply enjoy the excitement of the trip.

Travelling in February 2020 also came with added worries around Covid, but Alex knew exactly what to do. She kept us informed, reassured, and made sure we were safe and supported throughout—it made a huge difference during such an uncertain time.

Even while we were away, it was so reassuring to know we had someone there if we needed anything.

Absolutely priceless.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“My family and I have booked our annual trips to Walt Disney World with Your Fairytale Holiday for the past eight years—and we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Of course, we could book it ourselves, but we genuinely love working with Alex. Her knowledge of Disney is incredible, and the added extras, tips, and advice she provides are truly invaluable.

It’s that level of care and expertise that makes all the difference—and why we’ll never book with anyone else.”

- Charles, travelled in September 2019

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Alex is amazing. She really takes the time to understand exactly what you want from your holiday—when you want to travel, where you want to stay, and what budget you’re working with.

She’s completely honest and makes thoughtful recommendations to enhance your trip, not just sell it. In fact, she saved us money compared to other quotes we’d received, while also giving us a truly personal service.

From our very first quote right through to weeks after we returned, Alex was always there—checking in regularly, offering dining recommendations, FastPass advice, and support while we were actually in Orlando.

I wouldn’t book with anyone else and have already recommended Your Fairytale Holiday to so many friends and families.”

-Laura, travelled in October 2019

Your protection questions answered

  • What is Disney World Free Dining and how do I get it from the UK?

Disney World Free Dining is a promotional offer released by Disney for eligible travel dates and resort categories. It includes table service meals, quick service meals, and snacks across the resort as part of your holiday package, saving a family of four several hundred pounds on food costs. To secure it you need to book through an authorised Disney travel specialist before availability on eligible resorts runs out. Alex Perry at Your Fairytale Holiday monitors this offer for all clients and can check whether your travel dates and preferred resort qualify.

  • Is 2027 Disney World Free Dining still available?

The 2027 Free Dining and Free Drinks offer is currently live. However availability is limited to specific resort categories and travel dates, and the most popular rooms are already being taken. Contact Your Fairytale Holiday as soon as possible to check availability for your preferred dates.

  • How long should I spend at Walt Disney World from the UK?

A minimum of 10 nights is recommended for most UK families visiting for the first time. 14 nights is ideal for families who want to cover all four parks comfortably without feeling rushed. A 7-night trip is possible but the time pressure across four parks is real.

  • Should I use a travel agent to book Disney World from the UK?

Yes — and it costs you nothing extra. Booking through an authorised Disney specialist like Your Fairytale Holiday is the same price as booking directly through Disney. You gain expert planning support, dining reservation management, a personalised park strategy, and full ATOL and ABTA financial protection on your booking.

  • What is the best Disney World hotel for families?

For most first-time visiting UK families, the Moderate tier  particularly Disney's Port Orleans Riverside  offers the best combination of space, atmosphere, and value. Families on a tighter budget should consider the Art of Animation Resort in the Value tier. Alex Perry provides a personalised hotel recommendation based on your specific family, budget, and priorities as part of her free planning service.
