A Magical Stay at the Disneyland Hotel, Disneyland Paris – A First-Hand Experience
If you’ve ever dreamt of waking up quite literally inside a fairy tale, let me tell you – the newly reimagined Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris is where that dream comes true. I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying there, and it was every bit as magical as you'd imagine (and then some). Whether you're planning a once-in-a-lifetime family trip, a romantic getaway, or you just fancy treating yourself to a little Disney luxury, this hotel is an experience in itself. Here's everything you need to know – from the room, to the food, to those enchanting little details only Disney could think of.
Location, Location, Perfection
Let’s start with possibly the best thing about the Disneyland Hotel – the location. This majestic pink palace sits right at the entrance of Disneyland Park, literally above the turnstiles. You walk out of the lobby, and boom – Sleeping Beauty Castle is a short stroll away. As someone who’s done a fair few Disney holidays, nothing beats being that close to the magic. It makes hopping back for a mid-afternoon nap or outfit change a total breeze, especially if you’ve got little ones.
The Grand Reopening Glow-Up
The hotel reopened in early 2024 after a lengthy and much-anticipated refurbishment, and let me tell you – it shows. Gone is the slightly dated look from before. Now? It’s elegant, regal, and dripping in Disney charm. Think royal suites inspired by Disney princesses, velvet textures, polished marble floors, golden accents, and soft lighting that makes everything feel warm and inviting.
From the moment you enter the grand lobby, you’re met with that intoxicating Disney scent, beautifully dressed cast members, and even a few character surprises (we bumped into Cinderella and Prince Charming on the way to dinner!).
Rooms That Make You Feel Like Royalty
We stayed in a Deluxe Room themed around Beauty and the Beast, and it was stunning. The room was modern, but with whimsical touches – rose motifs throughout, elegant gold mirrors, and a headboard that lit up with a magical animation at the press of a button. There was also a tablet in the room for ordering services, checking park hours, or even requesting extra Mickey-shaped pillows (yes, that’s a thing).
The beds were heavenly – plush, soft, and perfectly cloud-like after a long day in the parks. Our window looked out over the Fantasia Gardens, and I have to admit, watching the sunrise over the entrance gates with a coffee in hand felt surreal.
If you're travelling with children, the Signature Suites or Castle Club rooms offer even more enchantment – with larger space, VIP perks, and some jaw-dropping designs based on Frozen, Tangled, and Sleeping Beauty.
Food Fit for a Queen (or King!)
Let’s talk food – because wow. The hotel features two main dining options: Royal Banquet and La Table de Lumière.
Royal Banquet
is a buffet with a twist – expect exquisitely presented dishes, rotating seasonal options, and interactive character dining. We had breakfast there with Aurora, Rapunzel, and Mickey dressed in royal attire. I still dream about the flaky croissants and the rich, velvety hot chocolate.
Then there’s La Table de Lumière, the hotel’s fine dining experience, which is inspired by Beauty and the Beast. It’s upscale but still welcoming – we dined on scallops, tender filet mignon, and a dessert that looked like a glass slipper. It's the kind of meal you rave about long after you’ve come home.
There’s also Fleur de Lys Bar, the perfect spot for a quiet cocktail in the evening – I highly recommend the signature “Royal Belle,” a sparkling concoction with a hint of elderflower.
Perks of Staying Here
One word: access. As a Disneyland Hotel guest, we had:
- Extra Magic Time: Early access to the parks before regular guests.
- Private entrance to Disneyland Park.
- Access to a concierge team who helped us book dining, shows, and even a VIP tour.
- And yes, turndown service with chocolates and slippers every evening (little things, but they make it special!).
There's also a gorgeous spa, pool, and fitness centre – though admittedly we didn’t spend long there because we were too busy soaking up the magic in the parks.
Final Thoughts – Is It Worth It?
Staying at the Disneyland Hotel is undeniably a splurge. But if you're looking to turn your Disney trip into something truly unforgettable, it's so worth it. From the dreamy location to the thoughtful details and high-end service, it adds an extra layer of wonder to the whole experience.
Whether you're there for the characters, the luxury, or just the sheer joy of being in the heart of it all – this hotel wraps you in magic from check-in to check-out.
Would I stay again? In a heartbeat. And next time, I’ve got my eye on the Frozen suite.
