Why choose Disney Cruise Line

Alex Perry • 28 March 2025
A Disney Cruise Line holiday offers more than just a typical cruise experience—it’s a magical adventure that combines the wonders of Disney with the luxury and excitement of cruising. Whether you’re a Disney superfan, a family looking for a fun getaway, or someone who enjoys top-notch service and unforgettable entertainment, Disney Cruise Line is a fantastic choice. Here’s why you should choose Disney Cruise Line for your next voyage.

1. World-Class Disney Entertainment
One of the biggest draws of Disney Cruise Line is the first-class entertainment. Onboard, you’ll find West End-style shows, character meet-and-greets, themed events, and even a cinema showing the latest Disney films. Disney Cruise Line takes their entertainment to the next level with family-friendly performances like Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid, all brought to life with stunning costumes, special effects, and unforgettable music.

For families, there’s something magical about seeing their favourite Disney characters come to life in person, as well as participating in interactive activities such as themed parties and treasure hunts. Plus, when the sun sets, adult guests can enjoy exclusive entertainment offerings, including live music, piano bars, and Broadway-style productions.

2. A Family-Friendly Experience
Disney Cruise Line is designed with families in mind. From the moment you step on board, you’ll notice the thoughtful touches that cater to both children and adults. Kids have access to supervised clubs like the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab, where they can engage in fun, educational activities. These clubs feature themed areas such as Star Wars and Toy Story, while teenagers can enjoy their own dedicated spaces with gaming zones, music lounges, and social activities.

For parents, there are plenty of opportunities to unwind. Adults can indulge in a relaxing spa treatment, take part in fitness classes, or enjoy the tranquillity of the adult-only pool areas. The ship also offers exclusive dining experiences such as Palo and Remy, which feature gourmet cuisine and impeccable service.

3. Disney’s Private Island: Castaway Cay
One of the most exciting perks of a Disney cruise is the stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas. This island paradise offers pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a range of activities for all ages. Guests can enjoy everything from snorkelling and parasailing to simply relaxing on the beach with a refreshing drink in hand.

Families can take advantage of the dedicated family beach area with BBQ dining, waterslides, and plenty of outdoor fun. For those seeking a more peaceful experience, there’s an adults-only section, Serenity Bay, offering a quiet retreat. Castaway Cay is an exclusive experience that you can only enjoy through Disney Cruise Line, making it a highlight of the trip.

4. Exceptional Service and Hospitality
Disney is world-renowned for its exceptional customer service, and Disney Cruise Line is no exception. From the moment you board to the moment you disembark, you’ll be treated to Disney’s signature hospitality. The crew members go above and beyond to ensure that your holiday is stress-free and magical.

Every detail is carefully considered, from the personalised greetings when you arrive to the attentive service at dinner. The waitstaff even follow you through each rotational dining experience, allowing them to cater to your preferences throughout the trip. Whether you need help arranging a last-minute excursion or a special surprise for a loved one, the Disney Cruise Line team is dedicated to making your experience unforgettable.

5. Delicious Dining Options
Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of dining options to suit every taste. With rotational dining, you’ll experience different themed restaurants each night, while your dedicated waitstaff provide personalised service.

7. Innovative Ship Design and Comfort

- Luxury and Detail – Every inch of the ship is designed with Disney magic, from elegant corridors to hidden Mickey details.

8. Magical Disney Moments
One of the best things about a Disney cruise is the opportunity to experience magical Disney moments at sea. Character meet-and-greets happen throughout the ship, and you never know when Mickey and friends might pop up for a surprise interaction. Special themed nights like Pirate Night, complete with fireworks at sea, create unique experiences that you won’t find on other cruise lines.

From enchanting storytelling to exclusive Disney merchandise, there are plenty of ways to bring home unforgettable memories.

9. All-Inclusive Experience
When you book a Disney cruise, you’re getting more than just a standard cruise—you’re getting an all-inclusive experience. Your fare includes:
✔️ Accommodation in a luxury stateroom
✔️ All meals at rotational dining restaurants and casual eateries
✔️ Entertainment, including Broadway-style shows and movie screenings
✔️ Access to pools, kids' clubs, and themed events

Choosing Disney Cruise Line means choosing a holiday that is magical, stress-free, and packed with unforgettable experiences. From world-class entertainment and delicious dining to exceptional service and breathtaking destinations, a Disney cruise offers something special for every guest. Bonus—ample seating means no desperate dash for a table, even during lunch rush. 7. Tusker House – Animal Kingdom (Table-Service, Character Dining) Go for the all-you-can-eat, African-inspired buffet and spot Donald, Daisy and Goofy in safari gear! Breakfast here is a favourite—pineapple-coconut bread, sausages, and Lilo & Stitch fun. At dinner, it’s skewers of meats and sides, with family-style servings and even views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from some tables. 9. Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo – Hollywood Studios (Quick-Service) If you have Star Wars fans in your family, they’ll love the galactic-inspired meals at Galaxy’s Edge. The Felucian Kefta and Endorian Chicken Salad keep it fresh and interesting for adventurous tastes. 10. Topolino’s Terrace – Riviera Resort (Table-Service, Character Breakfast) This rooftop spot means stunning views, European-inspired breakfast classics, and Mickey and friends in trendy “artist” costumes. If you’re celebrating something special, this is my go-to suggestion. In an exciting update for 2025, two restaurants on Disney property have been awarded the prestigious Michelin Star, marking a major milestone for Disney's culinary landscape. This recognition not only spotlights the high standard of cuisine available at the resort, but it also solidifies Walt Disney World as a serious contender in the fine dining scene. Whether you're a dedicated foodie or simply looking for an unforgettable meal during your next holiday, these award-winning restaurants deserve a place on your must-visit list. 🌟 Victoria & Albert’s – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Located in the elegant Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Victoria & Albert’s has long been regarded as the crown jewel of Disney dining. In 2025, it has once again been honoured with a Michelin Star, making it the only restaurant operated directly by Disney within a US theme park to receive such an accolade. This recognition reaffirms its position as one of the premier dining destinations in all of Florida. Established in 1988, Victoria & Albert’s offers an exquisite fine dining experience, featuring a meticulously crafted multi-course tasting menu that evolves with the seasons. Diners are treated to global ingredients, precision cooking, and artistic presentation in a setting that radiates old-world charm and sophistication. Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World: Why It’s a Total Game-Changer for Your Disney Holiday 🏰📲
by Alex Perry 15 April 2025
There are Disney dining experiences—and then there’s Narcoossee’s. Nestled on the edge of the Seven Seas Lagoon at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, this charming waterfront restaurant delivered one of the most magical evenings of our entire holiday. We’d booked our dinner reservation well in advance, and it couldn’t have been more worth it. As we arrived at the Grand Floridian, bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, the elegance of the resort instantly swept us into Disney’s version of a fairy tale. From the white Victorian buildings to the gentle notes of piano music drifting through the lobby, we knew we were in for something truly special. A Table with a View We were lucky enough to be seated at a window table—you know the one—with a panoramic view across the lagoon to the Magic Kingdom. As the sky melted into shades of rose and indigo, we could already see the castle twinkling in the distance. The fireworks were still to come, but the magic had most definitely already begun. An Unforgettable Meal Now, let’s talk food—because honestly, it was exceptional. My husband ordered the Surf and Turf: a perfectly cooked fillet steak paired with a generous, succulent lobster tail. He’s quite particular about his steak, but this one was so tender and full of flavour, it quite literally left him speechless. The lobster was beautifully buttery and cooked to perfection—decadent but not too heavy. I started with the lobster bisque, which was rich, silky, and utterly indulgent. For my main course, I opted for the seasonal fish dish, served with a delicate citrus beurre blanc and the freshest vegetables. Every bite was beautifully balanced and expertly prepared. And the wine—oh, the wine. We chose a crisp, well-rounded Chardonnay that complemented our meals wonderfully. Sipping it as the sun dipped below the horizon felt like the very definition of holiday bliss. Something Special for Our Little One Our 10-year-old daughter was absolutely delighted by her meal, and I have to say—Narcoossee’s children’s menu is nothing short of fantastic. She chose the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and the portion was generous, the flavours gentle yet satisfying. She felt so grown-up being treated like a little VIP. Her eyes lit up when dessert arrived—a make-your-own s’mores brownie, complete with marshmallows and chocolate sauce. There were giggles, chocolatey fingers, and a fair bit of marshmallow artistry involved. Pure joy. Fireworks Without the Fuss As our dessert plates were cleared, the lights dimmed gently and the iconic strains of Disney music filled the restaurant. The Happily Ever After fireworks show had begun, and from our perfect little window table, we watched the night sky explode in colour above Cinderella Castle. There we were—no jostling crowds, no rush—just the three of us, sipping wine and mocktails, holding hands, and watching the magic unfold. The reflection of the fireworks on the water made it feel like something out of a dream. A Night to Treasure Our evening at Narcoossee’s wasn’t just a meal—it was a memory, lovingly wrapped in fairy lights and fireworks. The food was divine, the service was attentive without being overbearing, and the setting? Absolutely enchanting. If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World and fancy a truly special evening with your loved ones, make sure Narcoossee’s is on your list. Whether you're celebrating something, or simply looking to slow down and savour the moment, it’s the perfect spot to create magical memories that will stay with you long after the last sparkle fades from the sky.

If you're anything like me, there’s just something magical about starting your Disney day with a character breakfast—and if you're heading to EPCOT, Garden Grill in The Land pavilion is an absolute hidden gem. I recently had the pleasure of experiencing their Harvest Feast Character Breakfast, and honestly? It was one of the cosiest, tastiest, and most delightful meals I’ve had in the parks! Here’s everything you need to know (plus my honest thoughts and foodie moments, of course!). 🌍 First Impressions: A Restaurant That Literally Moves Let’s talk about the setting first. Garden Grill is tucked inside The Land pavilion, which already has that nostalgic, earthy charm. Once you're checked in and shown to your table, you might suddenly realise... hang on, are we moving? Yes. Yes, you are. The restaurant slowly rotates—yep, really!—giving you tranquil views of the Living with the Land attraction below. You’ll glide past lush rainforests, desert landscapes, and even a cosy farmhouse kitchen scene. It’s all incredibly peaceful and adds to the “straight-from-the-earth” vibe. Don’t worry, though—it moves very slowly. No motion sickness here! 🍳 The Food: Homely Comfort, Served Family-Style This is an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal (what we’d call “all-you-can-eat” back home), but instead of a buffet, everything is brought directly to your table, family-style. And let me just say—our server, Kevin, was an absolute legend when it came to keeping everything topped up! Here’s what we tucked into at breakfast: Cinnamon Pull-Apart Loaf – warm, gooey, and dangerously moreish. Scrambled Eggs – soft, fluffy, and well-seasoned. Mickey Waffles – need I say more? Golden, crispy, and pure joy on a plate. Thick-Cut Bacon & Sausages – proper hearty fare! Tater Tot Hash – crispy potato tots with peppers and onions. A bit of a brunch twist, and so satisfying. Fresh Fruit – light, refreshing, and beautifully presented. Chocolate-hazelnut spread and syrup – yes, both are encouraged (and yes, I used both on the waffles). One of the coolest things? Much of the fruit and veg are grown right there in EPCOT’s own greenhouses. So, you're literally eating from the land in The Land. How brilliant is that? 🐿️ The Characters: Classic, Charming, and So Much Fun Now let’s talk about the real stars of the show— Farmer Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale, all dressed in their adorable farm-themed outfits. Mickey in overalls? Absolute heart-melter. Every single character came round more than once, and not a single interaction felt rushed. Chip and Dale were especially cheeky—pretending to nick our bacon and playing up for the camera. Pluto was his usual cuddly self, and Mickey? Just perfection. Full of hugs, happy waves, and pure Disney magic. And because the restaurant slowly rotates, the characters naturally make their way to every table. You won’t be skipped or forgotten, and there’s no pressure to grab every pic in a rush—they’ll be back round before long. 🌾 Allergy-Friendly & Brilliant for Kids A huge shoutout to the team here for how brilliantly they handle dietary requirements. My friend has a dairy allergy, and they brought her a whole separate tray with customised dishes—including dairy-free Mickey waffles! The chefs and servers were so reassuring and kind. If you’ve got little ones with you, this place is an absolute dream. The characters are lovely and interactive, and the food is familiar enough for even the pickiest eaters to find something they love. 📸 Top Tips for Your Visit: Book an early breakfast if you can —especially one before EPCOT officially opens. You’ll enjoy a relaxed start and possibly hop on Soarin’ or Living with the Land straight after, with hardly any queue. Ask for a lower-level table for the best views of the rotating scenery. Have your camera ready, but don’t stress. The characters make multiple rounds, so you’ll get plenty of photo ops. Come hungry —you’ll want to try everything (and probably go back for seconds... or thirds!). 💬 Final Thoughts: Is Garden Grill Worth It? Absolutely. No question. Garden Grill isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. With its slowly spinning dining room, fresh and hearty food, relaxed vibes, and fab character interactions, it’s easily one of EPCOT’s most charming and underrated breakfast spots. Whether you're a lifelong Disney fan, a first-timer, or just someone who appreciates a warm, farm-style meal in a cosy setting—Garden Grill is a breakfast that will leave you smiling all day long.

Walt Disney World is full of magic—and that includes the food! If you’re using the Disney Dining Plan on your next holiday, don’t overlook one of its tastiest perks: snack credits. Here’s how to make every credit count! ✨ What Is a Snack Credit? Snack credits are one of the most flexible parts of the Disney Dining Plan. They can be used on a wide range of delicious treats throughout the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. ✅ Includes: Ice cream cones and novelty bars Cupcakes, cookies, muffins, pastries Bottled drinks and speciality coffees Popcorn (including refills with a souvenir bucket!) Fruit, crisps, or yoghurt pots Festival food items at EPCOT booths Slushies, floats, and more 💸 How to Get the Best Value From Snack Credits Not all snacks are priced the same, and you don’t want to “waste” a credit on a £2 bottle of water if you could be enjoying a £5+ cupcake! Top tip : Aim for snacks priced at $5 (£4) or more —these will give you the best value for your credits. 🎯 Great value = filling snacks, special treats, or festival food items. 🏰 Best Snack Credit Uses by Park Magic Kingdom 🧀 Loaded Tater Tots (Friar’s Nook) – Topped with cheese, bacon or buffalo chicken. Great as a mini meal! 🥐 Cheshire Cat Tail (Cheshire Café) – A warm, flaky pastry filled with chocolate chips and icing. 🥨 Mickey Pretzel with Cheese Dip – Iconic, classic, and filling.

Why Disney Dining Matters for Your Holiday When planning a Walt Disney World holiday, most families focus on rides, attractions, and character meet-and-greets. But after working with countless UK families over the years, we've learned that dining can make or break your Disney experience. Food is not just fuel at Disney World—it's an essential part of the magic! At Your Fairytale Holiday, we know firsthand how overwhelming the dining options can be. This guide will help you navigate the world of Disney dining to create memorable mealtime experiences for your family. Understanding Disney Dining Plans Walt Disney World offers several dining plans that can be added to your holiday package. These plans allow you to pre-pay for your meals and can offer excellent value for money when used strategically. The Disney Dining Plan typically includes: Quick-service meals Table-service meals Snacks A refillable mug for use at your Disney Resort hotel Value tip: Based on our experience helping hundreds of UK families, the dining plan works best for those who plan to enjoy character dining or signature restaurants. If your family prefers simpler meals or eating on the go, paying as you go might be more economical. We can calculate whether a dining plan makes financial sense for your specific family dynamics and eating habits. There's no one-size-fits-all answer, which is why personalised advice is so valuable when booking with Your Fairytale Holiday. Advanced Dining Reservations: The Essential Timeline One aspect of Disney dining that often catches UK visitors off guard is the advanced reservation system. The most popular restaurants book up incredibly quickly, sometimes within minutes of reservations opening. These typically include: Cinderella's Royal Table Be Our Guest Restaurant 'Ohana Chef Mickey's Space 220 Having helped countless families secure their dream dining experiences, we recommend booking your must-do restaurants exactly 60 days before your check-in date. We offer a complimentary dining reservation service for our clients, where we'll wake up at the crack of dawn UK time to secure your preferred restaurants when your booking window opens. Character Dining: Creating Magical Memories Character dining experiences are among the most treasured family memories from a Disney holiday. These special meals allow you to meet Disney characters while enjoying your food, saving precious park time that would otherwise be spent queuing for character meet-and-greets. Our favourite character dining experiences include: Topolino's Terrace Breakfast - Located at Disney's Riviera Resort, this relatively new option features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy in adorable artist outfits, paired with stunning rooftop views and exceptional food. Garden Grill - This rotating restaurant in EPCOT offers family-style dining with Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. The restaurant slowly rotates above the Living with the Land attraction, providing changing scenery throughout your meal. Story Book Dining at Artist Point - Meet Snow White, the Evil Queen, and a few dwarfs in this atmospheric dining experience at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. We've taken our own families to these restaurants numerous times and can provide insider tips on the best times to book, which characters appear, and which menu items are worth trying. Budget-Friendly Dining Options Not every meal at Disney World needs to break the bank. We've discovered many hidden gems that offer excellent value: Flame Tree Barbecue (Animal Kingdom) - Generous portions of smoked meats that can easily be shared between two lighter eaters. Regal Eagle Smokehouse (EPCOT) - Quality American barbecue with outdoor seating and views of the American Adventure pavilion. Woody's Lunch Box (Hollywood Studios) - Nostalgic comfort food at reasonable prices in Toy Story Land. These quick-service locations offer portions large enough to share, making them perfect for families looking to stretch their dining budget. Unique Dining Experiences Worth Splurging On While we love helping our clients save money, there are some dining experiences at Walt Disney World that justify a splurge: Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is the only AAA Five Diamond restaurant in Central Florida. With exquisite tasting menus and impeccable service, it's perfect for a special anniversary or celebration. California Grill atop Disney's Contemporary Resort offers stunning views of Magic Kingdom, particularly during the nighttime fireworks. The contemporary menu features seasonal ingredients and an extensive wine list. Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness Resort combines hearty all-you-can-eat fare with a hilarious Wild West show that will have the whole family laughing. For families celebrating special occasions, we can arrange unique touches like birthday cakes, anniversary surprises, or private dining experiences. Mobile Ordering: The Time-Saving Feature You Must Use One of our favourite tips for clients is to use the My Disney Experience app's mobile ordering feature. This allows you to order and pay for quick-service meals in advance, skip the queues, and simply collect your food when it's ready. During busy periods, mobile ordering can save 30+ minutes at popular quick-service locations. We recommend placing your order while queuing for a nearby attraction so your food is ready just as you're getting hungry. Food Allergies and Special Diets at Disney World Walt Disney World excels at accommodating food allergies and special dietary requirements. As a company that regularly arranges holidays for families with various dietary needs, we can confidently say that Disney sets the standard for allergen-friendly dining. Most restaurants offer allergen-friendly menus, and chefs are available to discuss options with guests who have special requirements. When booking through Your Fairytale Holiday, we note all allergies and dietary requirements in advance to ensure a smooth experience. Final Thoughts and Booking Your Disney Dining Adventure Disney dining is about more than just food—it's about creating memorable experiences with your loved ones. With proper planning, your mealtime can be as magical as the attractions themselves. As specialists in Disney holidays with over 15 years in the travel industry and more than 100 personal trips to Disney destinations, we bring unmatched expertise to planning your dining strategy. A Magical Stay at the Disneyland Hotel, Disneyland Paris – A First-Hand Experience If you’ve ever dreamt of waking up quite literally inside a fairy tale, let me tell you – the newly reimagined Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris is where that dream comes true. I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying there, and it was every bit as magical as you'd imagine (and then some). Whether you're planning a once-in-a-lifetime family trip, a romantic getaway, or you just fancy treating yourself to a little Disney luxury, this hotel is an experience in itself. Here's everything you need to know – from the room, to the food, to those enchanting little details only Disney could think of. Location, Location, Perfection Let’s start with possibly the best thing about the Disneyland Hotel – the location . This majestic pink palace sits right at the entrance of Disneyland Park , literally above the turnstiles. You walk out of the lobby, and boom – Sleeping Beauty Castle is a short stroll away. As someone who’s done a fair few Disney holidays, nothing beats being that close to the magic. It makes hopping back for a mid-afternoon nap or outfit change a total breeze, especially if you’ve got little ones. The Grand Reopening Glow-Up The hotel reopened in early 2024 after a lengthy and much-anticipated refurbishment, and let me tell you – it shows. Gone is the slightly dated look from before. Now? It’s elegant, regal, and dripping in Disney charm. Think royal suites inspired by Disney princesses, velvet textures, polished marble floors, golden accents, and soft lighting that makes everything feel warm and inviting. From the moment you enter the grand lobby, you’re met with that intoxicating Disney scent, beautifully dressed cast members, and even a few character surprises (we bumped into Cinderella and Prince Charming on the way to dinner!). Rooms That Make You Feel Like Royalty We stayed in a Deluxe Room themed around Beauty and the Beast , and it was stunning. The room was modern, but with whimsical touches – rose motifs throughout, elegant gold mirrors, and a headboard that lit up with a magical animation at the press of a button. There was also a tablet in the room for ordering services, checking park hours, or even requesting extra Mickey-shaped pillows (yes, that’s a thing). The beds were heavenly – plush, soft, and perfectly cloud-like after a long day in the parks. Our window looked out over the Fantasia Gardens, and I have to admit, watching the sunrise over the entrance gates with a coffee in hand felt surreal. If you're travelling with children, the Signature Suites or Castle Club rooms offer even more enchantment – with larger space, VIP perks, and some jaw-dropping designs based on Frozen, Tangled , and Sleeping Beauty . Food Fit for a Queen (or King!) Let’s talk food – because wow. The hotel features two main dining options: Royal Banquet and La Table de Lumière . Royal Banquet is a buffet with a twist – expect exquisitely presented dishes, rotating seasonal options, and interactive character dining. We had breakfast there with Aurora, Rapunzel, and Mickey dressed in royal attire. I still dream about the flaky croissants and the rich, velvety hot chocolate. Then there’s La Table de Lumière , the hotel’s fine dining experience, which is inspired by Beauty and the Beast . It’s upscale but still welcoming – we dined on scallops, tender filet mignon, and a dessert that looked like a glass slipper. It's the kind of meal you rave about long after you’ve come home. There’s also Fleur de Lys Bar , the perfect spot for a quiet cocktail in the evening – I highly recommend the signature “Royal Belle,” a sparkling concoction with a hint of elderflower. Perks of Staying Here One word: access . As a Disneyland Hotel guest, we had: - Extra Magic Time : Early access to the parks before regular guests. - Private entrance to Disneyland Park. - Access to a concierge team who helped us book dining, shows, and even a VIP tour. - And yes, turndown service with chocolates and slippers every evening (little things, but they make it special!). There's also a gorgeous spa, pool, and fitness centre – though admittedly we didn’t spend long there because we were too busy soaking up the magic in the parks. Final Thoughts – Is It Worth It? Staying at the Disneyland Hotel is undeniably a splurge. But if you're looking to turn your Disney trip into something truly unforgettable, it's so worth it. From the dreamy location to the thoughtful details and high-end service, it adds an extra layer of wonder to the whole experience. Whether you're there for the characters, the luxury, or just the sheer joy of being in the heart of it all – this hotel wraps you in magic from check-in to check-out. Would I stay again? In a heartbeat. And next time, I’ve got my eye on the Frozen suite. ✨ Have you stayed at the Disneyland Hotel or planning to? Drop your favourite memory or your questions in the comments – I love chatting all things Disney magic! ✨
